Framing our Work

~View From a Window~

Brainstorm.
Plan.
Create.
Reflect.

Creative process: Each step is as equally important as the next.

This unit, 5th graders will be focusing on the creative process; especially reflection of their work and others. They will be creating a "View From A Window" given very little guidelines, artists are allowed to have the freedom to create unique and individual paintings.

Brainstorming and Planning
Creating

Students will have an in class critique, discussing the importance and variations of each piece of art. Given these opportunities, as young artists, they can see their techniques, experience and appreciation for the arts progress over the years.

How do the Elements of Art and Principles of Design assist in the creative process?

What's in a N-A-M-E?

First laying out their letters in an interesting composition...
Using several Elements of Art and the Design Principle of "Pattern", 4th graders are creating artwork using the letters of their names.

Then adding a variety of color...

They will then finish off with the final step of adding pattern to complete their Name Art Project.

This Art "Socks!"

With the Elements of Art and Pattern, 3rd graders are creating their own unique styles of art...check out their sock designs!

Valoarte Exhibit

UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL!

Students, teachers and a few parents were able to take a trip to the amazing Valoarte Exhibit to see artwork from famous people all over Centeral America.

With a guide, students were able to learn about each individual style of art and the techniques the artist used to create the artwork.

With a variety of interactive sculptures and installations, students had an amazing learning experience at Valoarte. Hopefully we can go again next time!
