Artistic Meditaion~ ZENTANGLES

Using patterns, lines and shading, third graders used their creative skills and hard work to create some amazing Zentangles. The Zentangle® art form and method was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas in order to create beautiful images from repetitive patterns.

The Zentangle:
  • Is completely abstract with no planned results
  • Can be displayed from any direction
  • Is an abstract non-representative art form with a collection of patterns, not a drawing of something
  • Can be drawn with either hand
  • Small enough to be drawn in 30 minutes
  • Portable art form
  • Not limited by technology
  • A form of artistic meditation
  • There is no right or wrong way
  • Anyone can do it!!

Students stayed focused and worked hard to create some outstanding Zentangles:
